The Heritage Foundation’s structural conservation specialist visited church square early this morning to determine whether any restoration work needs to be done to the Kruger Statues. He confirmed that there was NO damage to the bronze statues or the granite pedestal.
The fence around the statues is broken and the area resembles a war zone, but we understand that the Mayor wil undertake the clearance of the rubble today.
The statue will not be removed from its rightful place and we will not adhere to any threats of any groups or vandals.
Should there be any real reason for worry, the correct measures will be followed to protect these artworks.
