In this book, well-known historian O.J.O. Ferreira describes the life and times of those few Rebels who, together with genl. Manie Maritz, refused to surrender to Government troops and defected to German Southwest Africa. The Rebels were later forced to illegally enter Angola and were eventually interned in Portugal. This book succeeds in bringing a previously neglected aspect of the history of the 1914–1915 Rebellion to light.
