Annie Antonites, Senior Researcher at the HF, attended the biannual conference of the Association of Southern African Professional Archaeologists from 5-7 July. Around 250 archaeologists, museum professionals, students and other interested parties attended the conference, which was hosted at the University of Pretoria. Annie presented her collaborative research on food provisioning at salt production sites in the Lowveld as well as the use of bone hoes during the 11th – 13th centuries in the Limpopo Province. Post-conference excursions included visits to historical and heritage sites in Pretoria.
