Francois Langerman and Riana Mulder paid an inspection visit to the Louis Tregardt Memorial Garden in Maputo on 28 January. The memorial was unveiled in 1968 and commemorates this nineteenth century Voortrekker leader and his party. It has been under HF management since 2009. Conservation of remote heritage sites – especially when located outside the country – is challenging, particularly from a financial perspective. Despite the challenges, the memorial is in a good condition and required minimal maintenance work. Visit the memorial garden on your next trip to Mozambique!
