The Heritage Foundation has recently attained the services of the very capable specialist in various aspects of museum and exhibition design, production ans installation.

Balthi du Plessis is a museology expert with 30 years’ experience in management, exhibition design, construction and installation and conservation, as well as interior and graphic design. His career developed from that of a curator to manager to Director of the National Cultural History Museum. Balthi also lectured in several museum and conservation courses, most notably in the Postgraduate Museum Diploma at the University of Pretoria.

He established himself as an independent consultant and designer after leaving the public sector museum industry in 2001, when he founded Balthi du Plessis and Associates. Since then, Balthi specialises in a holistic approach to combine corporate identity, exhibition design and strategy, integrating established museological and heritage principles such as conservation, education and public programs. Over the past 10 years, Balthi increased his scope of business to include corporate interior design and construction, drawing inspiration from his background in museums and heritage.

His services include dedicated, professional and technical teams, which enables him to cut out the “middle man” and unnecessary additional costs.
